Flexible draper headers
Air Flex
The introduction of this draper header will allow you to work at the speed you have always dreamed of.
The latest evolution of flexible headers features specialized sensors and air suspension, allowing the header to "shave" the top layer of soil, harvesting more crops and guaranteeing greater profits. The AirFLEX header is lightweight and highly durable, innovative, and simple to use. This header incorporates a variety of innovative, modern technologies. With our headers, you'll appreciate the combination of thoughtful design, high performance, and simplicity.

10 reasons why Air Flex:

1. You get 2 headers instead of one!
The main feature of the Honey Bee AirFLEX is the ability to operate in two different modes (flex and rigid), which can be switched at the simple push of a button from the combine cab. The flex mode is ideal for harvesting soybeans and other crops that require the cutterbar to run as close to the ground as possible, while the rigid mode is perfect for crops like wheat or barley. Switching is controlled via the onboard air system, with no need for the operator to leave the cab. Shifting from flex to rigid mode takes 5–7 minutes, while switching back takes only about 40 seconds. This is a unique technology implemented exclusively in Honey Bee headers.
2. Lightweight design
AirFLEX headers are significantly lighter than their competitors:
-
First, the overall weight of the header itself is lower.
-
Second, unlike most other headers, the heaviest components are located in the center rather than at the back of the table above the feed auger. This design eliminates the risk of the rear section partially digging into the soil. Such smart weight distribution makes the header feel noticeably lighter.
3. Air system
The onboard air system (with a 100% duty cycle) on AirFLEX headers fully controls the air suspension bag system. This keeps the header table suspended, allowing it to "float" over the ground. It also enables the operator to adjust the cutterbar to be more rigid or flexible depending on operating conditions.
4. Mechanical drive
Honey Bee headers are equipped exclusively with a mechanical drive instead of a hydraulic one. Why? Because a mechanical drive offers:
-
Lighter weight – no additional equipment required
-
More power
-
Less system heat (compared to hydraulics)
-
Easier maintenance
-
Easier troubleshooting in case of issues
-
Simpler repairs
-
The mechanical drive is fully reversible
5. Independent cutterbar suspension
Thanks to this design, the cutterbar is not burdened by the weight of the harvested crop or the header table. This is exactly what keeps it lightweight and allows the knife to "float" over the ground.
6. AirFLEX features a truly flexible table
In similar technologies from other manufacturers, header tables consist of several (typically 3) smaller sections. In that case, only the 2 outer sections raise or lower, which offers very little actual flexibility. For example, if the outer row is higher than the center, a lot of unharvested crop will be left in the field.
The Honey Bee AirFLEX contours to the field terrain across the entire length of the reel. It can flex every 23 cm in different directions. This ensures the knife remains in the required position along the entire length of the reel, allowing you to harvest the maximum yield.
7. Extremely fast header height adjustment
-
Perfect contouring of even the slightest height variations
-
Ability to operate at incredibly low cutting heights above the ground
8. Honey Bee draper belt
-
Ensures a smooth flow for any crop
-
Provides perfectly uniform crop feeding into the combine
-
No moving parts or hoses
9. Transport system
-
On AirFLEX headers, the transport wheels are designed to transition into the required position as quickly as possible and fold away during operation.
-
Preparing the header for transport takes only 5–7 minutes.
-
The transport system is equipped with electric brakes.
-
Simple integration of the electrical system.
10. AUTOMATIX push-button control system
The system is operated directly from the combine cab, allowing the operator to instantly adjust the cutterbar rigidity/flexibility.
-
Easily integrates with your combine's system
-
Enables quick and easy header calibration
-
Allows rapid switching between the header's flex and rigid operating modes
