McCormick wheeled tractors
The McCormick company was founded by Cyrus McCormick and developed and manufactured reapers. Tractor production began in 1901 under the McCormick Tractors brand. In 1931, the tractor factory was renamed International Harvester. World War II halted tractor production, as the factory was then manufacturing equipment and weapons for the military. The International Harvesting name was acquired by J.I. Case. The company itself was acquired by the Italian manufacturer Argo. Argo is now the parent company.

The McCormick X7 and McCormick X8 are equipped with new 6.7-liter Beta Power turbocharged six-cylinder engines mounted on a robust chassis, helping reduce noise and vibration in the cab. The robust chassis, with its rubber shock-absorbing engine mounts, helps isolate the cab and drivetrain from vibration.
TRANSMISSION
A lineup of powerful and versatile tractors like the X7 and X8 must handle any task, even in the field. That's why McCormick engineers developed two different transmissions—the VT-Drive continuously variable transmission and the P6-Drive transmission—which provide the versatility and flexibility needed for modern agriculture.
Both transmissions feature features such as ECO mode at 40 km/h (at reduced engine speeds) and Reverse Power Shuttle. Additionally, the Powershift "P6-Drive" transmission features a "Creeper" mode.
The X7 model is equipped with a Powershift "P6-Drive" transmission.

The X7 and X8 rigid chassis models can be equipped with a front linkage without additional reinforcement. This makes the tractor more versatile for working with front-mounted implements.
